3M Scotch thread sealant and lubricant 48 is a white unfused plastic film made of PTFE. This fluorocarbon resin film tape designed to provide a leak-resistance seal when used as a pipe thread sealant. - This is 3 Mil high temperature, stable (PTFE) pipe thread sealant and lubricant that provides a leak-proof seal with a temperature rated to 500 °F (260 °C).

- Acetate cloth tape offering excellent conformability in coil wrapping applications up to 105 °C
- Excellent absorption of electrical insulating resins and varnishes
- Aggressive rubber resin adhesive
