The Hakko FT-802 thermal wire stripper is ergonomically designed and can be used on a variety of insulated wires, including teflon. ESD safe, Auto power off, sleep mode functionality and a variety of digital process controls. The Hakko FT-802 features an integrated handpiece holder on the top of the station to maximize workbench space while also providing a shield to prevent burns. The holder on top of the station also has a blade removal plate which allows users to remove the blades from the handpiece without touching them.

The Hakko FT-802 maintains the same performance and features of the FT-801. The New Hakko FT-8004 handpiece on the Hakko FT-802 is an upgraded design from the Hakko FT-8002 handpiece with improved blade alignment with set screws. The FT8004 handpiece on the Hakko FT-802 uses G4 blades which are an upgrade from the G2 blades. The G4 blades boast an optimized edge for wire stripping with superior thermal performance that make thermal wire stripping easier.
